Northern Region Virginia SARCentral Region | Eastern Region | Frontier Region | Northern Region The Northern Region of the Virginia SAR consists of eight chapters that encompass the northern portion of the Commonwealth of Virginia, commonly referred to as NoVa. Numerous cemeteries are visited annually to mark the graves with SAR markers or medallions in honor of a patriot's civil, patriotic and/or military servic during the American Revolution. Colonel Fielding Lewis Chapter SARColonel James Wood II Chapter SARThe chapter has received numerous honors from the National Society at recent Annual Congress awards banquet to include the President General's Chapter Activities Award (2021 - winner; 2022 - honorable mention) and the President General's Cup (2022 - honorable mention), which goes to the chapter, based upon size, with the most complete program of activities. Since 2019, the chapter has been honored with the National Society's USS Stark Memorial Award given annually to chapters with the best record of service to veterans (50–99 members category - 2019, 2020, 2021; 100–199 members category - 2022, 2023). Other honors include the Liberty Bell Americanism Award (50–99 members category - 2020; 100–199 members category - 2021) awarded by the National Society to the chapter, based upon size, that presents evidence of best implementing SAR resolutions and principles. Colonel William Grayson Chapter SARIn recent years, the chapter has won three President General's Education Outreach Award and Streamers (2020, 2022, 2023). Culpeper Minute Men Chapter SARSince 2019, the Chapter has won five consecutive President General's Education Outreach Award and Streamers (2019–2023). Fairfax Resolves Chapter SARThe chapter’s namesake, Fairfax Resolves, is honoring the Fairfax County Resolutions The chapter has received numerous honors from the National Society at recent Annual Congress awards banquet, the chapter was honored with the President General's Cup (at the 100–199 members category receiving honorable mention and as winner in 2020, and then winning once again in 2022 for the 200+ members category), which goes to the chapter, based upon size, with the most complete program of activities. At the 2023 Annual Congress, Fairfax Resolves Chapter won its first President General's Education Outreach Award and Streamer.
