Martin's Station Chapter SAR

The Martin's Station Chapter SAR chartered February 14, 2004 is one of seven chapters in the Frontier Region. The chapter and its member compatriots is dedicated to preserving the rich history of the Wilderness Road region in far southwestern Virginia. Located near the historic Martin's Station, this chapter honors the pioneers and patriots who blazed a trail westward and fought for American independence. Through educational programs, historical preservation projects, and community outreach initiatives, the Martin's Station Chapter SAR works to instill patriotism, educate the public about local history, and honor the courage of those who pioneered and protected this frontier.

Martin's Station is significant during the American Revolution as it served as a crucial frontier outpost along the Wilderness Road, a vital route for westward expansion during the Revolutionary War.

The chapter won the President General’s Education Outreach Award and Streamer (2023) for its outstanding youth and education programs.
