James Monroe Chapter SAR

The James Monroe Chapter SAR was chartered circa 1981 and named in honor of James Monroe, the fifth President of the United States and patriot of the American Revolution.  As one of eight chapters in the Eastern Region, the chapter serves compatriots and the community near Colonial Beach and Northern Neck area with educational, historical and patriot programs and services to the communities' youth, veterans, public servants and first responders.

The James Monroe Chapter SAR was awarded the 2022 President General's Education Outreach Award and Streamer for its excellence in its youth and education programs.

Each year, the chapter recognizes the National Commemoration Service for President Monroe's Birthday (April 28, 1758), as sponsored by the James Monroe Memorial Foundation as we celebrate the birth of President James Monroe at the Birthplace, located in Westmoreland County, Virginia.
