Crossing of the Dan Committee

The Crossing of the Dan was a critical turning point in the American Revolution that occurred 13–14 February 1781.

Since 2005, the Dan River Chapter SAR has led the local community and organizations to commemorate the courage of the men and units who made a difference.

Today, the annual commemoration held each February been elevated to a National SAR Event within support via the Virginia Society, the Dan River Chapter SAR and beyond.
