Clinch Mountain is a mountain ridge in the Appalachian Mountains that stretches across Tennessee and Virginia.  The Clinch Mountain Militia, also known as the Overmountain Men, played a crucial role in the American Revolutionary War. Comprising frontiersmen from the southwestern region of Virginia, North Carolina, and Tennessee, this militia was instrumental in the Battle of King's Mountain in 1780. Their unexpected victory against British forces not only boosted Patriot morale but also disrupted British plans in the South, contributing significantly to the eventual American victory in the war.

Please reach out to us if you're interested in learning more about the chapter, which serves the far southwestern portion of the state including Tazewell County.
